Inductions
As part of our Safety Management Plan, each member must undertake a General Induction first, and then specific machinery inductions before you may use the Shed's equipment.
Note: You must pay your membership fees before attending any inductions.
General Induction
General inductions are run every alternate Tuesday evening at 6:15pm. Check the calendar on the Sessions page to find a general induction.
Make sure you wear covered shoes and bring your own safety glasses and ear protection. (ear plugs are available at the shed for a small donation)
Please complete you membership application and make your payment before attending the induction.
No booking is required for general inductions. Please just turn up at the Shed at 6.15pm.
Area Specific Inductions

NOTE: from 17 March, 2026, a fee of $25 will be payable via the square terminal in the shed to undertake the Red woodworking induction. This will contribute to the costs of maintaining the equipment and other operational costs.

The purpose of this induction is to ensure all individuals using Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding equipment understand safe operating procedures and are aware of hazards, PPE requirements and emergency responses.
Instructions -Bring your Personal Protective Equipment

Auto-darkening welding helmet / approved face shield

Flame-resistant long-sleeve shirt & pants (no synthetics)

Leather welding gloves

Enclosed boots

Welding apron / jacket (recommended)

There is a cost for materials used in the induction system of $15 which can be paid at the LMCS, on the square terminal, under metal work.
