The initial focus of the Shed was woodwork, wood-turning and metal work but now has a very active pottery group. Should our members wish to pursue other activities, then we will attempt to meet their wishes.
The Shed has a well equipped woodworking workshop, with integrated dust control and commercial grade woodworking machines.
The metal work area has a number of welders, cutting gear and fume extraction. We have recently purchased a set of cold bending equipment, so members can make metal objects without welding.
Ceramics has become a major activity within the Shed. We now have a well set up ceramics area with two electric kilns, eight potter's wheels and areas for hand-building.
It is expected that the members will work on their own projects as well as projects that can be be donated to other community groups or used to help fund the ongoing costs of running the shed.
