LMCS - Inductions

 ​As part of our Safety Management Plan, each member must undertake a General Induction first, and then specific machinery inductions before you may use the Shed's equipment.

General inductions are run every alternate Tuesday evening at 6:30pm and do not require a booking.  Please just turn up at the Shed. (check the calendar at the bottom of the Opening Times page under More for dates).

Inductions for the woodworking machines are divided into two groups:

• ​Woodwork cutting machines - Saws (Red Group)  ​​Pre-reading and instructions
• Woodwork rotating machines - routers, planer/thicknessers, sanders & drills (Orange Group) ​Pre-reading and instructions​ ​

Book Red or Orange Induction Sessions

• ​Wood turning - Lathes and general turning safety  (Blue Dot) Please approach the the woodturning group directly to organise an induction.   Pre-reading and instructions (Wood turning)
• CNC Router inductions, please come to the Thursday evening sessions to find out more Pre-reading and instructions (CNC)
• Pottery, wood turning and metal work inductions are run regularly on an ad-hoc basis, so please contact the relevant  supervisor at the Shed.
